Myth or Reality?
Is there a unified database? Yes and no. Armenia has a Unified Electronic Register, but it does not contain 100% of historical data. If your record is recent (after 2014), it will be found in a minute.
However, millions of Soviet-era records are stored only on paper in regional archives. Without specifying the district, an operator in Yerevan simply does not know where to look for the physical book.

The system is hybrid. Some data is available “with one click,” while others require a physical request to a specific city.

Manual Request to the Archive
It is here that you need to name the Civil Registry Office. The system will send an electronic request to employees in that city, they will go to the archive, find the register, scan the record and upload it to the database (takes 2-15 days).
