Typically, it remains valid for the lifetime of the holder. However, requirements for the document vary by country. This means the format of the birth certificate (or statement) may differ. Over time, as governments introduce new certificate formats, you may need to obtain a new document, specifically a duplicate birth certificate in the updated format. However, this does not happen often.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, when submitting a birth certificate (or its duplicate) from Armenia or another country, officials in the receiving country may require it to be recently issued. For example, Italian authorities often require the document to be issued no more than six months prior.<\/p>\n<p>After death, a birth certificate (or duplicate) for that person is no longer issued.
